Kick-a-Thon March 2

Posted on February 12, 2026

We are excited to share some big news with you. We have an all ages KICK-A-THON EVENT scheduled for Monday, March 2, to support the Blood Center United!

What is a Kick-a-Thon? It's a unique and engaging way for our community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of blood cancer victims across the United States.

How a Kick-a-Thon works:

  • Participants purchase a wooden board for just $3
  • On the board, they write down a bad habit they are determined to break.
  • Participants reach out to friends and family for donations — we're challenging students to ask 10 people for $10 each.
  • Donations are made right online using a QR code students will get when they buy their board. The best way to take donations is directly through the QR and the Blood Center United website, but we can take cash or check donations if necessary — if someone needs to write a check, please make it out to Blood Center Unitednot MPK.
  • Supporters can contribute any amount and leave a signature on the participant's board.

Event Day Highlights:

  • On the day of the Kick-a-Thon — Monday, March 2nd at 5:30 pm — participants will physically break their wooden board by kicking it, symbolizing their commitment to breaking their bad habit.
  • The grand total raised will be revealed, creating a powerful and fun experience. In past years, we've raised very significant sums to support cancer research and the families affected by blood cancer.

Support the cause and make a difference by joining us for the March 2 Kick-a-Thon. You can participate, make a donation, or simply come and cheer on the participants! Even just your presence will contribute to the success of this impactful event.

We prefer you purchase your $3 board with cash at the front desk. However, you can also purchase your board through the MPK app or using by using this link: Kick-a-Thon Board

There will be NO REGULAR CLASSES on the day of the Kick-a-Thon (3/2/2026). Boards will be available for purchase beginning today, Thursday, Feb. 12.

Let us know if you have questions, and get your board today!
