There are a couple of really fun opportunities at MPK through March — a new Leadership Team rotation, as well as a Special Seminar led by a special guest, Neil Stolsmark, with 2 sessions of traditional Japanese martial arts.
• MPK LEADERSHIP TEAM rotation:
The latest MPK LEADERSHIP TEAM rotation begins on March 5. If you are not currently part of our MPK Leadership Team, click here for more information (right-click to download). This time we will be working on Escrima sticks with the adults and the Nunchaku with the juniors. The MPK Leadership Team is a fun and interesting addition to your regular martial arts training. Both adult and junior students meet 2 times per week.
Juniors meet on Mondays at 6:00pm, and on Saturdays at 10:15am. Adults meet on Wednesdays at 6:45pm and, like the Juniors, on Saturdays at 10:15am. I encourage you to get signed up soon. There are signup sheets at the counter for both groups. You can enroll for the Leadership Team online. TO ENROLL click here and select “Martial Arts Classes” and scroll down to the Leadership Team options to enroll 1, 2, or 3 students.
• SPECIAL SEMINAR (3/17/12):
The other great upcoming opportunity is our Special Seminar on Saturday, March 17. We are very fortunate to have world-class instructor Neil Stolsmark hosting this 2 session seminar on traditional Japanese martial arts. SESSION 1 is on the nunchaku and begins at 10:00am sharp, and runs until noon. This will fit perfectly with our Leadership Team training!
SESSION 2 is on empty handed self defense, presented in a traditional manner. The 2nd session begins at 12:30pm and runs until 2:30pm. We highly recommend this unique opportunity. Both Mr. and Mrs. Stolsmark are wonderful martial artists and have a lot to offer. This is a great opportunity to train with a world class instructor.
Cost for this special March 17 seminar is $40 for 1 session and $70 for both. We offer a $10 discount for a 2nd and 3rd family member, and the 4th family member is free. Make checks out to “MPK” and sign up as soon as possible — we’ll need to order nunchaku for those who need them.
And don’t forget there are a couple of tournaments in the area worth attending. Check the board near the door for flyers and information…
