School (and uniforms) Are Back!

Posted on September 9, 2020

Just a few reminders with the start of the school year and cooler weather…

Now that school is back in session (sort of!) we’re back to full uniforms — that means the uniform top and pants for all students. Students can wear any shirt under their karate uniform.

In the case of inclement weather such as rain, please wait until students from the previous class have exited the studio before sending your own in. We should have everyone out 5 minutes after the end of class, and then we can allow students for the next class into the studio.

Thank you for your support.

Closed on Labor Day

Posted on September 3, 2020

We will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7. We’ll be back on Tuesday the 8th.

We will be open for Super Saturday this Saturday, Sept. 5 at 9:15 and 10:30. Super Saturday is a great opportunity for our brown belts to take another step closer to testing for black belt.

We hope you all have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Update for Fall

Posted on August 18, 2020

I would like to share with our members what we are planning to do for the start of the school year. We have received many requests to offer a place for virtual learning here at the studio. I have been searching for staff to help with this program. I have a couple of people who can help with some of the days, but unfortunately I have not been able to put together a schedule for a whole week. I am going to continue to search for staff and if we can put together the right team, I will let you all know asap. At this time I am planning on hosting 15 students if we can put together 3 solid staff members. If you know of someone who may be interested, please let us know.

The program would run from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm, for students grades k-6. We would offer karate classes for all students as well. Students would need to pack a snack and a lunch. The cost of the program would be $7 per day. Duration of the program is likely to be 50 days. Members would need to commit to the whole 50 days regardless of what the school district does.

Beyond virtual learning we are also looking at offering a program for the early afternoon to work as an after school time slot. We will continue to offer our evening classes along with zoom classes as these have been very well attended.

For those members who have continued to train, we can’t thank you enough for your support. If you have not been in, we understand, as this can be a very trying time for everyone.

Please let us know if you have an interest in participating in the virtual program if we get it going.

New Class Sign Up Procedure

Posted on July 22, 2020

We’re moving our class and stripe test sign up from Acuity to the MPK app.

Little Kickers students will still need to sign up to attend class in person.

We are now asking ALL students attending online to sign up ahead of time so we can staff accordingly.

For Android users, you can find class sign up in the drop down menu in the top left corner under Class Schedule. Sign up is pretty simple:

1. Click on the class you want to sign up for
2. Select the date you want
3. Select the class time
4. Select the participant
5. Click Register

For iOS users (or those who don’t have the MPK app), you can also use this link to sign up for classes.

If you have any questions or problems signing up, just let us know.

Masks Required in Class

Posted on July 14, 2020

In compliance with the current health mandate, we ask that all students who attend class in person wear a mask covering their nose and mouth. We also ask that parents not sit in on classes.

All students are still welcome to join the appropriate class on Zoom without signing up in advance. Online students will receive credit for attending. Little Kickers can attend online regardless of which class section is attending in person.

Use the following Zoom class using the links:

Thanks, and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Our Revised Schedule

Posted on July 6, 2020

We’ve reworked our schedule again to accommodate as many students as we can while still complying with the most recent Dane County health order. We are allowed to have 10 students in each class, plus staff. We may split our Intermediate (white-green) and Brown Belt classes into two groups if necessary.

We will also stream our martial arts and yoga classes on Zoom. Stay tuned for more information on how to access the Zoom meetings.

Thank you all so much for your support during this unusual time. Stay safe, and have a great week!
