Just a reminder that there are only 16 spots left for our A+ After School Program before we reach the program’s maximum capacity! Registration for the two-day option is now closed — but the three-day and full time (4-5 day) options are still open.

Our bokken rotation (wooden or foam sword) will start Saturday, September 7. We’ve decided to push the start date back so it’s after school starts and everyone can have a bit more time to enjoy the rest of their summer. Rotation sign up and bokken orders are still open at the front desk.

CONGRATULATIONS to our 10 new First Degree Black Belts! They all did a great job on a test that totaled about five hours of really hard work!

Below are some upcoming dates and schedule changes you’ll need to know about.
► BELT TEST – Monday, August 12 for intermediate students, Gold, Orange, and Green Belts beginning at 5:30. Expect about an hour for this test. Full uniforms required.

► BELT TEST – Wednesday, August 14 for advanced students, Purple and higher beginning at 5:30. Expect an hour and a half to two hours for this test. Full uniforms required.

► Weapons Rotation – We just wrapped up our Escrima Stick rotation, and our next rotation will be Bokken (wooden or foam sword).
Rotation will start Saturday, August 17.

► A+ After School Program – We have some three day options and full time options still available, but the two-day program is full. Enrollment is filling fast, and we’re down to twenty total slots – if you plan to enroll, please do so soon so you don’t miss out!

► Second Degree Black Belt Test – August 24 at 11:00 am for Mrs. Jessica Armstrong and Mrs.Jenn Wendtland. Come on down to cheer them on and see the new things they’ve been working on!

Just a reminder that we will not have regular karate class this Saturday, July 27. Although, we will still have Total Fitness and Yoga classes at their regular times.
Our black belt candidates have all worked very hard to get to this point, and everyone is welcome to come in and cheer them on. The test starts at noon and will run for about four hours.

Just a quick reminder that morning classes start today, June 18.
Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-9:45 am and are open to all ages and belt ranks. The last weekday morning class of the summer will be on Thursday, July 25. Have a great summer!

I hope everyone is enjoying summer vacation even though it hasn’t felt much like summer yet. Here is what is going on at MPK this week and later this month.
▻ TESTING
Tonight and Wednesday night tests begin at 5:30
Little Kickers will have their normal class at 5:00 both Monday and Wednesday.
Monday at 5:30 Gold, Orange and Green belts will test. Expect approximately 1 hour for testing.
Wednesday at 5:30 Purple and higher will test. Expect approximately 2 hours for testing.

The A+ After School Program will offer early registration rates for 2 more weeks. As of July 1st rates will go up. If you haven’t registered yet please take advantage of the early registration rates and save your spot in the program. If you would like our staff to assist you in registration feel free to stop in and allow us to assist.
