A+ After School News for October

Posted on September 30, 2016

Can’t believe one month of school is done already. Wow. Where does the time go… Halloween here we come! YIKES!

For those of you that are new to our program, your tuition in the A+ After School Program is a tax write off for you and can use towards Flex spending. In December, I will send every family a receipt from what they paid from September – December.

If you paid in FULL for the whole year (all up front) and owe nothing in January, you’ll only get credit for 1/2 of the tuition.

Here’s what is happening in October… please mark your calendars!

  • Oct 7 – DAMS 5/6 Fall Festival from 3:15-5:15pm

Notes for After School Families

Posted on September 12, 2016

Hello A+ families,

Next Monday, Sept. 19 is our first early release day at school. School is out at 1:00. I’m going to print out a early release day sheet and place on the front desk for you to check off if your child is attending or not attending. I need to know either way. You may also email me YES or NO and I can mark it down for you too.

Part Time families: If Monday is your normal day to attend MPK, then you don’t pay extra. If Monday is not your scheduled day to come to MPK, but would like to send your child, you may do so and pay $32.

Any questions, let me know.

Thanks,
Melinda Huber

Got Any Good Books?

Posted on September 7, 2016

One of our Black Belt family members is dealing with some issues that have caused a considerable amount of down time. She’s looking for some great books to help pass the time, so we would like to help her out.

If you have any really good fiction books that you’re willing to donate, we’ll be collecting them at MPK and delivering them to the family. She’s looking for those books that you love and could read over and over. She doesn’t care for horror, but she’s open to any other genres and is willing to trying something new.

If you have a great book you’re willing to share, please bring it to the front desk at MPK and we’ll make sure it gets to her.

Thank you, we appreciate your support!

A Helping Hand for an MPK Family

From the Desk of Mr. Armstrong:

On Friday, September 2, five-year-old Maddie Feldman will have surgery to remove a tumor from her brain. Midwest Professional Karate is organizing meals for the family. Maddie and her sister Aubrey are both students at MPK. You can sign up below through SignUp Genius to help support the family by providing meals.

You may drop off the meals at MPK Monday-Thursday 2:30-7pm; Friday 2:30-5:30pm, or Saturday 8:30-11am. MPK will transport the meals to the family.

Items such as food or gas gift cards are welcome and MPK will gladly deliver those as well. Thank you.

Pickup Location for A+ Middle School Students

Posted on August 26, 2016

Quick note for our A+ After School students at the Middle School. The MPK van will pick up after school students on the corner of Southbound/Yorktown (where the Middle School announcements sign is located).

If your child will not be on the MPK van on certain day when they are scheduled to, please call/email me to let us know so the driver isn’t waiting for them.

Thank you!
