Updates Through December

Posted on November 17, 2016

After a fantastic fall, the holiday season is nearly here. So here’s an update with all that’s coming up:

NINJA NIGHT – Both sessions of our Ninja Night this Saturday Nov 19 to benefit Maddie Feldman are filling up, but we still have slots available if you haven’t signed up yet. Ages 4-8 are from 2-5 pm and ages 9 and up are at 6-9 pm. You can sign up at the front desk this week or email me with names and ages of the kids, and I’ll add you.

LOGO GEAR – Our Hoodie samples are out, and the order form is at the front desk. If you’d like to order either adult or youth logo hoodies, please sign up no later than Monday, Nov. 21, so we have time to get them stitched. We also have hats, headbands, key chains, string backpacks, uniforms, and other accessories in stock or available for order if you’re looking for gift ideas.

TESTING – Our next test is coming up in December. Because the normal Saturday date falls at a really busy time, this test will be on Wednesday night, Dec. 14.

  • Little Kickers testing for Gold through Green Belts will test at 5pm.
  • All adults and juniors and Little Kickers testing for Purple Belt and up will start at 5:30pm.

SUPER SUNDAY – We’ve added a Super Sunday this weekend, Nov. 20 for 1st and 2nd Degree candidates. Adult Red Belts are also invited to this session. It will run from 5-6:30 pm and is a great opportunity for some extra training.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

  • Regular classes through Wednesday, Nov 23
  • Closed for Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, Nov 24 and 25
  • Saturday, Nov. 26 will have Total Fitness Training at 8am, but no regular classes. We will, however, have an open gym from 9-10:30am. Come with a plan to work independently on your curriculum material
  • Closed Saturday, Dec 24 through Monday, Dec 26 for Christmas
  • Regular classes T-Th, Dec 27-29
  • Sat, Dec 31 – to be announced

Halloween Reminder & Notes for November

Posted on October 25, 2016

Monday is Halloween so we just wanted to remind everyone that we will have our A+ After School program as we always do. However, there will be NO evening classes on Halloween.

Trick-or-Treating in DeForest is from 5-7pm. Happy Halloween!

Here are some dates to keep in mind for NOVEMBER:
Monday 11/7 – NO SCHOOL – Parent Teacher Conference
Tuesday 11/15 – WES – Family Science Night – 6pm

THANKSGIVING DATES:
Wednesday 11/23 – NO SCHOOL
Thursday 11/24 – NO SCHOOL
Friday 11/25 – NO SCHOOL

REMINDER: Trading Cards Policy

Posted on October 11, 2016

We want to remind all MPK A+ After School families that we kindly ask students to keep ALL Poke Mon cards either at home or in their backpacks. Trading cards in general are not accepted at MPK. The reason is the younger kids typically don’t understand the meaning of the cards they are trading and the value they may have. We don’t want to anyone upset or with hurt feelings.

If we see any cards in sight, we’ll collect them from the student and give them to the parents at pick up time.

Thanks for your understanding.

Can’t believe one month of school is done already. Wow. Where does the time go… Halloween here we come! YIKES!

For those of you that are new to our program, your tuition in the A+ After School Program is a tax write off for you and can use towards Flex spending. In December, I will send every family a receipt from what they paid from September – December.

If you paid in FULL for the whole year (all up front) and owe nothing in January, you’ll only get credit for 1/2 of the tuition.

Here’s what is happening in October… please mark your calendars!

Notes for After School Families

Posted on September 12, 2016

Hello A+ families,

Next Monday, Sept. 19 is our first early release day at school. School is out at 1:00. I’m going to print out a early release day sheet and place on the front desk for you to check off if your child is attending or not attending. I need to know either way. You may also email me YES or NO and I can mark it down for you too.

Part Time families: If Monday is your normal day to attend MPK, then you don’t pay extra. If Monday is not your scheduled day to come to MPK, but would like to send your child, you may do so and pay $32.

Any questions, let me know.

Thanks,
Melinda Huber
