What a night. The MPK Kick-a-Thon to benefit <a href="http://bit.ly/mpk-kick">Blood Cancer United</a> was a massive success and we appreciate all the efforts by participants and their donors. 



In a night that brought the MPK community, there were plenty of smiles and good vibes as we broke boards and raised money for an important cause. You should be proud, DeForest, as preliminary totals raised were more than $21,000. Incredible. THANK YOU.

Join the cause! Tonight is a very important all ages KICK-A-THON EVENT beginning at 5:30pm on Monday, March 2, to support the Blood Cancer United.



What is a Kick-a-Thon? It&#8217;s a unique and engaging way for our community to come together and make a positive impact on the lives of blood cancer victims across the United States.&nbsp;



How a Kick-a-Thon works:

<li>Participants purchase a wooden board for just $3</li>



<li>On the board, they write down a bad habit they are determined to break.</li>



<li>Participants reach out to friends and family for donations&nbsp;— we&#8217;re&nbsp;challenging students to ask&nbsp;10 people for $10 each.&nbsp;</li>



<li>Donations can be made <a href="https://bit.ly/mpk-kick">online</a> or by scanning a QR code (below). The best way to take donations is directly through the <a href="https://pages.lls.org/svoy/wi/svoymadison26/swahmhoff">Blood Cancer United website</a> or QR and the website, but we can take cash or check donations if necessary — checks should be made payable to Blood Cancer United,&nbsp;not&nbsp;MPK.</li>



<li>Supporters can contribute any amount and leave their signature on the participant&#8217;s board.</li>
</ul>



Event Day Highlights:

<li>On the day of the Kick-a-Thon&nbsp;— Monday, March&nbsp;2nd&nbsp;at&nbsp;5:30 pm — participants will physically break their wooden board by kicking it, symbolizing their commitment to breaking their bad habit.</li>



<li>If you are participating in the Kick-a-Thon, please wear your full uniform.</li>



<li>The grand total raised will be revealed, creating a powerful and fun experience. In past years, we&#8217;ve raised very significant sums to support cancer research and the families affected by blood cancer.</li>
</ul>

There will be NO REGULAR CLASSES on the day of the Kick-a-Thon (3/2/2026). Boards will be available for purchase beginning today, Thursday, Feb. 12.
