Ninja Night / Parent’s Night Out

Posted on September 23, 2018

You are invited to a fun evening of games, pizza, and a movies at the studio. On Saturday, September 29 from 6-9 pm, we’ll be hosting Ninja Night for kids ages 5 and up. Cost is $20 for the first student and $15 for additional students.

If you’ve already downloaded the MPK Deforest App, you can register in the Events tab using the Parent’s Night Out event. You can download the app at the App Store or Android Market — look for MPK Deforest, enter your name, email, and studio code (608-846-5111), and you’re ready to register for this event and all your other programs.

If you don’t have the app yet, you can click here to register just for this event.

Please note that if you have more than one student attending, you’ll need to register them individually and use the discount code NINJA2 for the 2nd or 3rd participant.

These events are popular and tend to fill up, so if you’re interested in attending, please register soon!

Uniform Stitching

Posted on September 22, 2018

Hey MPK Families, 2e’ll be sending a batch of uniforms out for stitching this week, so if any of you have a red and black or white and black team uniform that still needs the chest stitching on the top, please drop it at the studio by Wednesday evening. Please also make sure uniforms are labeled with the student’s name so we get them all back to the right people.

If your student doesn’t have another top while this one is out, they can wear their karate t-shirts to class until we get these back.

Thanks,
Jeni Risgaard, Front Desk Coordinator

Please check for shoes…

Posted on September 18, 2018

If you or your kids were in class Monday night (9/17), can you please check if someone accidentally grabbed the wrong shoes on the way out? We’re missing a pair of pink flip flops with silver accents in size 2.

With all the activity in the studio with school starting, it’s a good time to remind everyone to check shoes carefully — a lot of them look very similar and can be mistaken if you don’t look closely.

If you do find the missing flip flops, please drop them off at the desk and we’ll get them back to the right person.

Thanks everyone!

Women’s Self-Defense Seminar

Posted on July 24, 2018

We will be conducting a women’s self defense seminar this Sunday, July 29, beginning at 6:30 pm.

This is a great opportunity for women and girls age 14 and up to learn some practical skills for defending themselves along with behaviors and strategies to help avoid becoming a target. This is great for anyone heading to high school or college, as well as adults who just want to gain practical skills and confidence.

There is no fee for the seminar, but instead we will be accepting donations to support Blessings in a Backpack. If you or any friends or family would like to attend, please respond by Friday so we can get an accurate headcount.

Thanks — we hope to see you there!

One-time Schedule Change…

Lost Item…

Posted on May 14, 2018

We need your help. There is a lost necklace that we need your help to locate. The necklace belongs to Seamus O’Connell and was given to him as a gift and as a family tradition — it’s got a lot of personal meaning to Seamus and his family, so we’re asking if you could please take a look and check with other students in your family to see if you might have it (see photo).

It was here in the studio hanging from one of the gear racks next to the desk about 3 weeks ago, but it was gone the next day when we went to get it. It’s possible that another student picked it up by accident, or it even could have been accidentally knocked into a backpack or sparring bag.

We’d really appreciate it if you could take a look and return it to the front desk or directly to Seamus if you find it. Thanks very much for your help!
