Just a quick reminder of the upcoming Holiday schedule. We will be open this week through Thursday evening classes. We will be closed, starting Friday, December 23 through Sunday, Jan 1.
We reopen for evening classes on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Happy snow day to everyone! I hope you all get a chance to enjoy it.
MPK WILL BE OPEN this evening for our normal classes today. Staff should be in by 4:30 or so.
Also, a BIG shout-out to all the MPK instructors and staff who have really stepped up to fill in the gaps as I recover from a recent shoulder surgery. My plan is to be back into the studio with limited activity for a visit, next week. After winter break, my plan is to be back on the floor with the help of other instructors, as I will still be very limited for a while. I truly miss all my MPK Peeps and hope to see you all soon!!

A reminder that our new evening schedule begins TONIGHT!
We have added another Little Kickers class (for no belts and white belts), beginning at 5pm in an effort to better serve our karate community.

REMINDER: No sparring for ages 11 and up tonight, Tues. 11/15, due to our nunchuck seminar. Sparring for ages 10 and under will be at its regular time from 5:00-5:30.

For anyone interested in our weapons program, there’s still time to sign up for both our introductory nunchaku seminar and our 8-week weapons class. Any student aged 7 to adult who is a Gold Belt or higher can enroll (links below).
Nunchaku Seminar – Tuesday, November 15 from 5:30-6:30pm. There will be no sparring class for ages 11 and up on this date, and beginning on Tuesday, November 22, sparring for the older age group will move to the later time slot, from 6:05-6:45pm.
This one hour seminar is the introduction to the weapon and the form we’ll be learning. We’ll cover weapon safety, handling techniques, and a demonstration of the form. We recommend that everyone interested in taking the class also take this seminar, even if you’ve had prior experience. It will give you a refresher on techniques and a jump start on learning the form. There are three registration options:
8-Week Nunchaku Class – November 22 through January 17. Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:00 pm, but excluding December 27th.
If you’d like to see examples of the foam and graphite nunchucks in the different sizes, they’re available at the front desk, and we’re happy to answer any additional questions you have.
